Description

Abraham Lake Bubbles Photography Workshop

Photographing the famous methane bubbles trapped in ice at Abraham is one of the most fun subjects to shoot in winter. As the lake freezes and water levels vary, bubbles become trapped in the ice and the ice cracks in exciting patterns. It’s a photographers dream for foregrounds.

This four-day workshop allows participants ample time to explore the area, practice and get some great light. We will be staying at a picturesque mountain lodge in Nordegg. You will also be well fed by a red seal Chef! Our chef will take care of all the meals and bagged lunches, so you are fuelled up and satisfied.

Participants should have experience using their camera in manual mode and on tripods.

The Workshop is limited to four participants*.

*An exception may be made if you would like a photographer or non-photographer spouse to join you and share your room, please contact (monika@deviantoptiks.com) me to arrange this. Bedrooms have a single double bed. Additional charges will apply.

Testimonials from pervious workshops with Monika Deviat & Christine Kyte:

"What a fantastic weekend! The smoke was a bit challenging for milky way photography, but Monika was able to keep us busy regardless! When the smoke cleared…amazing!! The milky way, the stars, and the park gave you so many areas to take photos.
The tours were fabulous and such a great idea.
AND THE FOOD! Christine from Reflective Catering was awesome!
I highly recommend this tour when Monika does it again! You WILL NOT be disappointed.

"Thoroughly enjoyed my time at Dinosaur Provincial Park with Monika’s Dinosaur at Night Photography Workshop. My expectations were exceeded. The venue was excellent and Chef Christine from Reflective Catering in YYC kept everyone fed with more than nutrition – great smells, tastes that stimulated your palette and a demeanour that helped us celebrate each meal. Monika paid so much attention to everyone to capture great images you get the sense of collaboration. She also did this under trying circumstances as the smoke from the northern Alberta fires blanketed the area. The skies cleared Saturday night and images were produced. Thank you Monika Deviat and Christine!
