Event description

Description

On June 2nd, join us in celebrating the ACAM Graduating Class of 2017!

This event will feature graduating student speakers, a light evening reception, and a preview of what’s ahead for the UBC ACAM Program.

In addition, we aim to bring the Asian Canadian and Japanese Canadian communities together to honour two important anniversaries: the 75th anniversary of the Japanese Canadian internment, and the 5th anniversary of the Japanese Canadian Honorary Degree Ceremony that sparked the beginnings of the ACAM program at UBC.

This is a free event open to all. We acknowledge and are thankful that this will be hosted at UBC, which is located on the traditional, unceded, ancestral homelands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) First Nation.

Special thanks to the UBC Asian Studies Department, which is supporting us as our venue sponsor for this event.

If you require dietary or accessibility-related accommodations (e.g. vegetarian food options, sign language interpretation, captioning, accessible parking, specific dietary requirements, or any other accessibility-related measure) please contact the ACAM team (acam.events@ubc.ca) by May 29th, 2017.
