About this event
The Accelerating Accessibility Coalition (AAC) is challenging the real estate development industry to create homes and communities that are truly welcoming and inclusive, that go beyond the inadequate accessibility requirements of the Building Code.
The AAC is a community of residential real estate and accessibility leaders that are striving to create a more accessible Canada, starting with the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA), by accelerating the supply of new buildings and homes that are physically accessible. The coalition is underpinned by the belief that accessible housing benefits everyone, and that a sign of a fully inclusive and prosperous country is for people of all ages and abilities to be able to participate fully in society without barriers, including having access to homes that are barrier free. We are far from realizing this vision.
At this event you will hear from residential and accessibility leaders on the importance of creating accessible communities and how to get involved as well as a panel discussion of diverse speakers on the topic of how we can significantly increase the supply of new housing that is accessible and welcoming to people of all ages and abilities.
Space is limited. Please RSVP by November 25th to secure your spot.
Masks are strongly encouraged!
