Event description

Description

Nearly one in six Manitobans is disabled by barriers where they work, live and play. It is easy to take simple things like reading a form for granted but barriers to accessibility are real and constant challenges to persons with disabilities.

This is why accessible documents are so important and required when working with the Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA). The challenge is submission requirements and best practices can be very difficult to measure and standardize. The focus of this two-day workshop is to take participants through this process and learn the basics of creating more accessible InDesign and PDF documents.

What You Will Learn

•Why accessibility is important.

•What kinds of software and apps people may use to access your documents.

•Major accessibility concepts that can be applied to InDesign and PDF
documents.

•Practical tips on how to make InDesign documents accessible.

•Practical tips on how to make PDF documents accessible.
