This is the first in a series of webinars MaRS Cleantech will hold over the next two months to connect ventures with investors and adopters.
About this event
These are difficult times for cleantech startups. Among other challenges, the COVID-19 pandemic has made it more difficult for companies to secure capital. The federal government, in response, is flowing billions of dollars through the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) and Export Development Canada (EDC) to help small businesses ride out this unprecedented economic storm.
During this timely MaRS Cleantech webinar, BDC and EDC will go over the first wave of COVID-19 supports that have been announced, share insights on how the pandemic is impacting the cleantech sector today, and discuss how both organizations are working together to triage requests for support. They will also take your questions about existing measures and future ones under consideration.
Speaking on behalf of BDC:
Zoltan Tompa, Director, Cleantech Practice, BDC (Ottawa)
Jahangir Bhatti, Director, Cleantech Practice, BDC (Toronto)
Speaking on behalf of EDC:
Sophie Dumoulin, Director, Cleantech, EDC
Lynn Côté, Cleantech Lead, EDC
