Event Details

Advance care planning is a process of reflection and communication. It is a time when patients reflect on their values and wishes, and let people know - including their substitute decision maker(s) - what kind of health and personal care they may want in the future if they become mentally incapable of consenting to or refusing treatment or other care. This webinar will provide information about why advance care planning is important for men with prostate cancer, and how advance care planning can be integrated into clinical practice.

The purpose of this workshop is to:

  • Provide an overview of advance care planning (ACP).
  • Foster an understanding among healthcare professionals as to why ACP is important for patients with prostate cancer.
  • Review the steps involved in the ACP process, and how to start these types of conversations with patients.
  • Familiarize professionals with the available resources on ACP and how they can be integrated into medical practice.

Presented by: Dr. Sean Pierre, Urologist
