This session will examine end-stage renal disease and palliative care for those afflicted. Topics will include pain management, disease complications, advance care planning and best practices.
- Highlight the need for integrating quality palliative care into the care for patients with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD)
- Describe some of the barriers to providing renal palliative/supportive care
- Highlight opportunities to engage patients, care-givers and health professionals in renal palliative/supportive care
