ACENET Workshop to : Call-out anti-Asian racism, Find your Voice, and Learn Strategies to Empower the Self and Support Colleagues

About this event

ACENET invites you to a learning session on how to identify and understand the language of bias, and discrimination in education.  In the webinar Too Asian? How do you see me?, we explore these concepts with a focus on the racism confronting Asian Canadians in the school system and address the following questions:

Microaggressions toward Asian Canadians in education - What does it look like? Sound like? Feel like?

What is the impact on Asian Canadian students, staff and community? What do you/we do to intervene?

Join us on January 28, where we will collectively call-out anti-Asian racism, learn strategies to empower the self, understand and identify ways to support fellow educators.

Organizer Asian Canadian Educators Network

Organizer of ACENETJan28: Too Asian? How do you See Me?

ACENET began meeting informally over the summer of 2012, and has developed into a pan-Asian organization for educators in the Greater Toronto Area and the province of Ontario. Our Vision is to work towards equity in school and society through full and active participation, and our Mission is to serve as the voice for advocacy, pedagogy and leadership. Using the Equity and Inclusive Strategy for Education in Ontario and the Ontario Framework for Leadership as a foundation, we come together as a unified collective to support and advocate for equitable and inclusive education
