Event description

Description

On Thursday, May 24th the Ontario Chapter of HIMSS will be hosting a networking event and presentation at the new Globe and Mail centre in downtown Toronto. This evening event will feature an engaging presentation from Dr. Sean Connors (Chief Cardiologist – Central Health Newfoundland) and will be followed by the opportunity for networking over drinks and appetizers.

Agenda:

Presentation Title: Achieving the quadruple aim in healthcare – Newfoundland’s Cardiac Cath Lab

Presentation Overview: Health System Providers (HSPs) are generally striving towards achieving the healthcare quadruple aim: improved care delivery, reducing costs, improving population health, and reducing clinician ‘burnout’. The need to drive towards this balance is critical in order to meet the growing demands being placed on the healthcare system. Since Chronic Heart Disease affects a substantial segment of the population in North America it represents a substantial opportunity for improvement and value realization.

The Province of Newfoundland & Labrador has one of the highest incidence of Heart Disease in Canada and has set out on a goal to lead the country in innovative approaches to heart disease.

Value to Audience: Attend this event to hear about how the Health Sciences Centre in Newfoundland is leveraging their unique opportunity to overcome province-wide cardiac health delivery challenges with a vision to achieve the quadruple aim. Attendees will learn about how the Health Sciences Centre launched myCCath to facilitate and expedite referrals across the province which will ensure more timely intervention, improved outcomes, and improved capacity through optimization. Future plans include automating and optimizing scheduling for poly morbidity patients and moving towards predictive population health via advanced analytics and IoT.

For CPHIMS professionals - Event attendees can claim 1 CE credit towards maintaining their CPHIMS certification.
