TEMAGAMI BLUE consists of John Shymko and Dyland Shigwadja
John Shymko is a Canadian guitarist, composer and lyricist newly located to Temagami, Ontario.
He has played and composed blues, rock, folk, eclectic, jazz, rhythm & blues, reggae and new age music at venues all over Ontario, worked with numerous artists both in Canada and internationally as a lyricist and guitarist, and shared his knowledge through voluntarily teaching music fundamentals to children in Ontario elementary schools.
He is no stranger to technology and visual / audio media, as he doubles as a graphic designer and photographer.
John's fusion of Blues, Americana, Rock, Reggae, Folk, Jazz, Classical and World Music influences create a unique guitar and production style which is simultaneously rhythmic, melodic and soul felt.
He has an unending drive and creative vision to further develop new sounds and integrate new musical cultures into his music.
John also has a long history of social activism, environmental stewardship and community building. He lists being tear gassed multiple times at a demonstration as one of his proudest moments. :)
Dylan Shigwadja, Ojibwe Anishinabe, Multi-Instrumentalist from Wiikwemkoong Unceeded Territory on the homelands of Manitoulin Island. Currently residing in North Bay, Ontario. Dylan is well versed in different genres, including; Jazz, Fusion, Improv, Folk, Blues and Country. Driving a rhythm section on bass or punching leads on Piano, Rhodes, or B3 organ. An extremely versatility skill set which includes a long resume that allows him to work with any artist.
Dylan has shared the stage with artists, including Juno-award artists and Aboriginal Peoples Choice Award Nominees. During summer of 2016, Dylan was inducted into the Country Hall of Fame to recognize his contribution to the country music scene. Dylan has worked with numerous acts, in and out of the studio and recorded on multiple projects. In the fall of 2018, Dylan contributed to the soundtrack for film project Falls Around Her with long-time friend and Composer Julian Cote (directed by Darlene Naponse of Atikameksheng, Ontario).
