About this event

Anton & Cornelia of falkeis2architects are very pleased to invite you to the opening reception of their exhibition, Active Buildings  –  Innovation for Architecture in Motion.

After a very successful start of the exhibition at the Austrian Cultural Forum in New York City, the exhibition has travelled to the A+D Museum in Los Angeles, the MAK-Museum in Vienna, the Aedes Architecture Forum in Berlin and will now be on show in the Urbanspace Gallery in Toronto.

The “active energy building” is the prototype of a new urban, decentralized power generation system that represents a trend-setting model for energy generation and distribution. It is the main focus of the exhibition, which details their extensive research work with their results on numerous advances in terms of material, construction and network design for the development of active buildings. By means of further projects, falkeis2architects presents its innovative strategies that help to tackle the major societal challenges, such as climate change, energy and resource scarcity.

The opening reception will begin at 6 p.m with an exhibition talk beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Many thanks for the support of the Austrian Cultural Forum and Austrian Embassy Ottawa.
