Event description

Description

Substance use is an important but complicated issue. When someone’s brain becomes injured, there are a whole new set of challenges added to those faced by people with uninjured brains.

So, Northern Brain Injury Association is thrilled to be bringing Carolyn Lemsky, Ph.D., to Prince George for a workshop on addressing the challenge of co-occurring substance use and brain injury.

Learn about the impact of acquired brain injury and how to make addictions care more accessible to people living with cognitive impairment as Carolyn shares her insights and extensive experience.

Dr. Carolyn Lemsky is a Board Certified clinical neuropsychologist who specializes in the assessment, consultation, and treatment of moderate to severe acquired brain injury, and a strong proponent of integrated care.

For the past 20 years, she has been the Clinical Director at Community Head Injury Resource Services of Toronto. And for the past 12 years, she has been the Director of the Substance Use and Brain Injury (SUBI) Bridging Project.

The event takes place at the Prince George Golf and Curling Club's Royal Room from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on April 24th, 2019. Admission is $10.00 and includes a buffet lunch, coffee, tea, and desserts. There are only 70 seats available, so be sure to book your tickets asap!

The event is presented by the Northern Brain Injury Association and is funded in part by a Civil Forfeiture Crime Prevention and Remediation Grant provided by the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General of British Columbia.
