Event description

Description

Please join us for this one day workshop on Saturday November 24th. Networking and coffee begins at 8:30. with a full program from 9 a.m – 3 p.m. with key stakeholders. The purpose is to bring the right organizations and leaders together in Guelph to discuss youth mental health in Guelph, learn what key initiatives are in place and determine how to move forward.

The Key Objectives of the meeting are for key stakeholders to agree on a direction and determine what is required to move forward.

You have been invited to participate in this workshop to help us build a better Guelph for our youth and focus on their wellness.

In February 2017, the Ontario government announced funding for up to nine integrated service hubs province-wide to address the gaps in the province’s youth service system. These hubs specifically target the needs of youth aged 12-25 as fully integrated “one-stop-shops” for mental health, substance use, primary care, education/employment/training, housing and other community and social services. These hubs include peer services, outreach, and system navigation services. Services will emphasize quality and will be timely, integrated and co-located.

Dr. Johanna Henderson, from CAMH, is spearheading the nine- integrated service hubs province-wide will present the overall findings to date. We will also include representatives from two of those service hubs to discuss how they are addressing youth mental health in their communities as well as other service providers who have pertinent Guelph information.
