ADHD and Beyond: Supporting Children with Attention Issues

At this workshop the psychological and physiological roots of attention challenges will be discussed in order to assist parents and professionals in developing an understanding of your child's struggles. The workshop will also address the question as to, why attention challenges are on the rise in our children, what to do to help children better manage these struggles, and how our parenting approach can be adjusted to ease the struggle at home. Research and theory from some of the top professionals in the speciality of ADHD, children’s mental health and interpersonal neurobiology will be explored as discussed. Resources, lifestyle alterations, parenting strategies and coping mechanisms to help your child, or the children you work with, manage these challenges at home and school will be shared and discussed. This presentation is appropriate for parents, caregivers, teachers, and mental health professionals. A certificate of completion will be granted to participants at the end of the day.
