About Soroptimist

Helping women and girls live their dreams.

The name Soroptimist means "Best for Women." It is an international volunteer network dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. 75,000 Soroptimists in 122 countries advance equality by delivering local projects, supporting larger international initiatives, and advocating for women and girls across the globe through our consultative status at the United Nations.

About Minerva BC

Together we can change the face of leadership Minerva BC provides leadership development programs for women and girls, and partners with organizations to advance gender parity in British Columbia.

Minerva’s founders were accomplished leaders with a vision of “women helping women”. Knowing firsthand the struggles women face in business, politics and society, they created Minerva because they did not want future generations of women to face those same struggles. Twenty years later Minerva BC has touched the lives of over 4,000 girls and women across BC.
