Instructor: Robbin Pulver-Andrews

In two sessions students will learn the ancient techniques of painting with melted beeswax and resin. This course will offer not only the basics of encaustic painting, but also explore some of the other creative possibilities of working with this medium. Layering, incising, collage, and image transfer techniques, as well as including other found objects such as stones and shells will be demonstrated. An additional materials fee of $40.00 is payable to instructor at first class for use of shared tools, wax and other items.

Uncork your creativity with a painting class that includes an evening of light hearted socializing. Follow the host (a AGB studio instructor and practicing artist) as you are guided with entertaining demonstrations to recreate a selected painting. Come join us for a drink and a few laughs; bring a friend or come to meet new friends. No artistic background is necessary and all are welcome. Cost of class includes a drink, all materials and use of tools.

Intro to Stained Glass - W68

Learn to cut, grind, foil, solder and finish a 9-piece Trillium in two sessions. This 5-hour course is a basic introduction to stained glass and copper foiling. There is an additional material fee of $40 for all required materials and shared use of tools payable to the instructor at the first class.

Buttons & Beads w. Egyptian Paste - W20

An ancient technique for a modern world. The Egyptians in the time of the Pharaoh’s used this self-glazing clay to make beads and small trinkets in beautiful turquoise shades. In this workshop we will work on making custom buttons, beads and pendants using the same ancient recipe with a wider colour palette. The second day we will make pieces with milliflore designs with Egyptian paste. No clay experience required! Come explore this amazing medium! Price of class includes all materials and shared use of tools.

Event Details

ART SUPPLIES: Adult students must supply their own materials unless noted otherwise. Course outlines containing the supply lists will be available on the AGB website under Education registration page.

If you are not able to view or obtain the course outlines from the website, please contact Heather Borsellino through the contact information listed below. 

ATTIRE: Please dress in clothing that reflects the nature of the activity.  Your clothing may get messy from the materials and mediums utilized in your class.  Also, closed-toe shoes are mandatory. 

ALLERGIES OR SPECIAL NEEDS? Important - Notify us on your regsitration if the student has an allergy, health concerns, or a learning disability that could impact participation in the class.  We would like to remind you that we are a nut-free facility.  Please ensure that any food or drink items that you bring into the AGB are free of nut products.  We appreciate your cooperation.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY Refunds are cheques payable to registrants, subject to the following:

1. The AGB reserves the right to cancel or combine classes if minimum enrollment is not met.

2. If a course is cancelled, registrants will be notified up to a week prior to the start date of the class.

3. Requests for refunds must be made in writing to the Education Coordinator: Heather@AGB.life

4. No refunds will be given after the 2nd week of a course.

5. Except for courses canceled by the gallery, all refunds will be subject to a twenty-five dollar administration charge and a pro-rated deduction for classes up to AND including the date of the refund request.

6. Refunds will be issued within six weeks of the cancellation. 

7. Save your receipt for tax purposes.
