Don’t be intimidated by the digital camera! This course will help you to understand how the digital camera works. We will practise taking photos using different camera settings until you feel confident working on your own. We will then learn how to transfer photos from the camera to the computer and learn some editing tricks so you can share the best with family and friends.

W68 - Intro to Stained Glass

Time: 7 - 10pm

Stained glass, copper foiling introduction course. Learn to cut, grind, foil, solder and finish a 5 piece sun catcher in one 3 hour class to take home. This class is a prerequisite for the upcoming Stained Glass Panel Original Design and Fabrication workshop. An additional material fee of $30 is payable to instructor at the first class for all materials and use of tools.

W72 - Introduction to Mosaics

Time: 7 - 10pm

Beginners will be introduced to the basics of mosaic making. They will get a brief overview of materials, adhesives, design and composition as well as the cutting and laying out of tiles and the grouting process. Students will work on an 8” x 8” wall piece from a choice of designs to practise the techniques and finish with a unique artwork to take home No previous art experience is required. There is an additional material fee of $55 for all materials and use of shared tools payable to the instructor at the class.

W51 - Intro to an Abstract Art Quilt

Time: 9:30am - 3:30pm

A great starting point for those who want to create an art quilt but don’t know where to begin. Together, step-by-step, using fusible webbing with bold fabrics, you will work to create unique fabric surfaces that will be combined to form an art quilt, with a backing attached at the end of the process, and a final size in the range of 15” by 20". Students must bring a sewing machine and if possible, an iron. No art experience is necessary, but a good working knowledge of your sewing machine is required. Free motion quilting is not required to complete the process. All necessary fabrics including batting and fusible web will be provided by the teacher for an additional charge of $30, payable at the beginning of the class.

ART SUPPLIES: Adult students must supply their own materials unless noted otherwise. Course outlines containing the supply lists will be available on the AGB website under Education regsitration page.

If you are not able to view or obtain the course outlines from the website, please contact Heather Borsellino through the contact information listed below. 

ATTIRE: Please dress in clothing that reflects the nature of the activity.  Your clothing may get messy from the materials and mediums utilized in your class.  Also, closed-toe shoes are mandatory. 

ALLERGIES OR SPECIAL NEEDS? Important - Notify us on your regsitration if the student has an allergy, health concerns, or a learning disability that could impact participation in the class.  We would like to remind you that we are a nut-free facility.  Please ensure that any food or drink items that you bring into the AGB are free of nut products.  We appreciate your cooperation.

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY Refunds are cheques payable to registrants, subject to the following:

1.     The AGB reserves the right to cancel or combine classes if minimum enrollment is not met.

2..   If a course is cancelled, registrants will be notified up to a week prior to the start date of the class.

3.     Requests for refunds must be made in writing to Studio Education Coordinator:

4.     No refunds will be given after the 2nd week of a course.

5.    Except for courses canceled by the gallery, all refunds will be subject to a twenty-five dollar administration charge and a pro-rated deduction for classes up to AND including the date of the refund request.

6.    Refunds will be issued within six weeks of the cancellation. 

7.   Save your receipt for tax purposes.
