ADVANCED LIGHTING EDUCATION: THE COMMISSIONING PROCESS APPLIED TO LIGHTING & CONTROL SYSTEMS

Winter Session – One Saturday

Date: Saturday, February 03, 2018

Time: 9:00AM to 4:00PM MST

Cost: $200 IES Members, $250 Non-members

This course offers an advanced look at the lighting and control systems commissioning process.  After this seminar the student will be able to:

  • Review requirements for lighting commissioning under the NECB 2011 code
  • Understand the Commissioning Process
  • Understand the importance of lighting Controls with commissioning
  • Understand the importance of daylighting
  • Understand the importance of Ongoing Commissioning

Please note:  Students must purchase their class materials in advance.  Please go to the IES Store to purchase your student materials.  Materials will not be provided at the class.

INSTRUCTORS

Trina Larsen, P. Eng., M. Sc., LEED AP+
(IES Edmonton Section - Past President)
Trina Larsen is an Electrical Engineer with a passion for sustainable design, lighting design and implementation.  She is the Managing Associate for AES Engineering’s Edmonton office, an electrical design engineering firm.  Over the past 20 years, Trina has been fortunate to work on a variety of projects types, including religious institutions, recreation facilities, museums, offices, health care, schools, and more.  The majority of these projects involved sustainable building principles and building energy conservation.
Trina is the past president of Section 79 of the IESNA, and served on the IES commissioning committee for Design Guide 29-11.  Several of her projects have received recognition with an IES Award of Merit.

Craig Hatch
(Owner, CFMS Alberta)
CFMS Alberta Ltd. was incorporated in 2003 to service projects in Western Canada.  Their projects include, but are not limited to, new construction, existing buildings, education, retail, institutional and tenant improvements.  They specialise in providing total building commissioning and LEED commissioning services.  Their diverse portfolio varies in size and complexity.

The IES membership discount applies only to the IES member. Additional attendees are to be registered as non-IES members.


Does this event apply for Continuing Education Units (CEU) or Professional Development Hours (PDH) towards my association (e.g. AAA, AEE, AIA, APEGA, IDCEC, NCQLP, etc.)?

Yes, you may count this event as learning hours for certification renewal credits with various associations.  Please confirm with your association as to how these hours can be applied, however, as this seminar is not registered or accredited with any particular association.


What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Pay parking is available at the NAIT Campus.  Additionally NAIT is a major ETS and LRT stop.


What's the refund policy?

Refunds can be arranged up to 7 days prior to the event by emailing the organiser with your request.

 

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
