Advance your practice in caring for trans and gender-diverse children and youth and their family in this 2-day session

About this Event

The two-day session will cover cultural safety concepts and skills, advanced mental health and assessment practice accompanied by endocrine education to enable providers to take their practice to a more advanced level of care with trans and gender-diverse children and youth, and their family, as appropriate. The training will be provided by clinicians from Trans Care BC and BC Children’s Hospital.

Key concepts & schedule of sessions:

Day 1 | Thursday June 20th 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM

  • Foundational concepts and skills
  • Care of trans and gender diverse youth

Day 2 | Friday June 21st 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM

  • Advanced practice - psycho-social/mental health assessment with clinical scenarios
  • Endocrine care of trans youth with clinical scenarios

Audience: This training is aimed at clinical providers (including nurses, pediatricians, family doctors) who are looking to increase their capacity to provide care for trans and gender-diverse children and youth.

**UPDATE ** Accreditation/Certification: The University of British Columbia Division of Continuing Professional Development (UBC CPD) is fully accredited by the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME) to provide study credits for continuing medical education for physicians. This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and has been approved by UBC CPD for up to 12.0 MOC Section 1 Group Learning credits. This program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by UBC CPD for up to 12.0 Mainpro+ Group Learning credits.
