Event description

Description

As our inaugural chapter meeting, come and find out the value the Canada East chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers can provide the local energy management community. Lunch will be provided.

We're pleased to have Michael Brophy (Ontario Ministry of Energy) speak about energy reporting and benchmarking. Beyond regulatory requirements, how can we leverage this initiative as a tool for change?

Energy and Water Reporting and Benchmarking for Large Buildings (Ontario Regulation 20/17)

Buildings in Ontario including office buildings, condominiums and retail stores made up 19 per cent of Ontario’s total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in 2013. The Energy and Water Reporting and Benchmarking (EWRB) initiative was introduced to help building owners improve their building’s energy and water efficiency. The Ministry of Energy will provide an overview of the initiative and explain additional resources that are available as this initiative is phased in over three years starting in 2018.

Keynote Speaker:

Michael Brophy manages Conservation Programs & Partnerships at the Ministry of Energy which has responsibility for various energy and climate change related programs including Energy and Water Reporting and Benchmarking for Large Buildings. Michael is a licensed engineer in Ontario and has worked in the industry for over 20 years in both the private sector and public sector.
