Join us on Sunday, November 24th for an intimate concert in The Aeolian's Dave Southen Lounge, featuring the incredible Jennifer Thorpe with Bryan Gloyd on piano!

The Aeolian Heritage Series happens on Sunday afternoons throughout the year and will feature some amazing local performers from a variety of musical genres!

These concerts are being held to help raise money for the heritage restoration of The Aeolian and Bishop Cronyn Memorial Place.

JENNIFER THORPE

Jennifer "Red" Thorpe is an award-winning jazz vocalist who has performed in clubs, concerts and festivals throughout Ontario. Witty, lyrical and always at ease, she is a consummate entertainer whose sets include everything from Fats Waller to bebop, jazz standards to new Canadian 'standards.' A proud graduate of Western's performance program, Jennifer continues to work in many languages, singing original jazz lyrics in Portuguese, French and Spanish. Performances include jazz appearances with pianist Mark Eisenman, local legends John Noubarian and Charlie Rallo, as well as Orchestra London and local swing band The Jitterbugs. She has shared the stage with Canadian folk/blues legends Ken and Chris Whiteley, folk icon Jackie Washington, and, more recently, Canadian rock chick Emm Gryner. Recording credits include Mike Gorman's debut album where she appears alongside Canadian folk legend Willie P. Bennett, and a jazz session with Reg Schwager and Mark Eisenman . As a first-time producer, Jennifer's sold-out tribute concert at the Glenn Gould Studio for jazz guitarist Ed Bickert was recorded and broadcast by CBC Radio program Canada: LIVE! Still a force to be reckoned with, "Red" continues to work as a musician, producer and columnist. She makes her home in beautiful St. Marys, Ontario with her husband and three children.

BRYAN GLOYD

Bryan Gloyd's musical career has many facets including working as a church musician, recording artist and jazz pianist. Bryan has accompanied many local musicians and organized jazz programming at The Aeolian. He has also accompanied two-time Grammy Winner Matt Alber, the legendary songwriter Marc Jordan and the Canadian National Jazz Award Winner Denzal Sinclaire.
