Finding the Right Mix: Projects, Partnerships and Financing

About this Event

You are invited to our annual Affordable Housing Forum. This event is hosted by the City of St. John’s in partnership with Canadian Mortgage Housing Corporation

Title: Finding the Right Mix: Projects, Partnerships and Financing

Time: Registration and breakfast at 8:30 am, speakers will begin at 9:00am

Keynote speaker: Greg Dewling- CEO of Capital Region Housing Corporation (CRHC) located in Edmonton, AB

Helen Keller said, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” With the increasing demand for affordable housing, we need all hands on deck; no agency, developer, municipality or other order of government can do it alone. Greg will explore the partnership developed in 2017 between Capital Region Housing (CRH), a public housing agency based in Edmonton, AB, and Royal Management Services (RMS). Together, CRH and RMS built a 174 unit development in southeast Edmonton with no government funding. Thirty-five (35) households receive a rental subsidy from CRH; the subsidy is funded by CRH’s net cash flow of its 50% ownership in the Limited Partnership. All of us deserve an affordable place to call home. This Canadian first is now home to 35 new families who can afford their rent.

Join us to discuss:

1. Mixed income housing models

2. Revitalizing spaces and partnerships

3. Affordable housing building blocks

Admission is free but space is limited, please register in advance. A light breakfast will be served. Please contact us if you require any disability related supports or if you have any questions.
