Afloat in a Boat
Event Information
About this Event
‘Afloat in a Boat’ is the return of an old, popular event. A boatload (or two) of naturalists and other knowledgeable people will be leading a flotilla of small kayaks and canoes on a circumnavigation of Somenos Lake. The tour will take place at one of the most beautiful times of the year on the lake with fall in the air, tree colours changing and the annual waterfowl migration fully underway. The expert guides will speak about birds, fish, S’amuna’ pre-colonial and post-colonial history, photography and a host of other interesting things. If things work out well, we will return to some hot chocolate and other treats at the dock. We will postpone to another day if the weather is inclement for the activity. Pre-registration is required and can be found at www.wildwingsfestival.com on the events page.
