Farm Radio International
Farm Radio International is a Canadian charity working with 650 radio broadcasters in 40 African countries to fight poverty and food insecurity. We help African radio broadcasters meet the needs of local small-scale farmers and their families in rural communities. To learn more please check out our website: www.farmradio.org
There are two ways. If you want to pay together simply select the "Team of 4" option above. Please add the names of the other team members when you submit your registration (this is the last question in the submit form). Alternatively, each team member can register separately. Simply select the team that you want to be on from the drop down list when you register. If you don't see your team name that means you are the first one to register from your team. Pick a team name and add it to the system.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Yes. Please bring your printed ticket (or download the EventBrite app on Android or iPhone) so we can scan the bar code on it. This will speed up registration.
Can I invite people to the Bonspiel?
You sure can! Just send them a link to this page. If you want them to be on your team make sure they select your team name when they sign up.
What are my parking options at the event?
There is ample parking at the Rideau Curling Club and some street parking in the neighbourhood.
Do I need special equipment or shoes?
If you are new to curling, please just bring a pair of clean running shoes or flat boots. We will put tape on the bottom of one of one of your shoes to help you slide on the ice. It gets cold in the rink, so we recommend that you bring a warm sweater/jacket and a pair of gloves/mitts. The curling broom is provided.
Who participates at this event?
Ottawa Farm Radio International staff, FRI supporters and friends participate. Everyone is welcome!
Can I donate to Farm Radio International without signing up for this event?
Yes! Please go on over to www.farmradio.org and click the "Donate" button.
Where does the money go?
In addition to funds raised at the amazing silent auction and raffle, $30 from each ticket will go to Farm Radio International's overseas program in Africa to:
- Produce radio scripts for use by hundreds of African broadcasters
- Provide broadcasters with unique training programs
- Work with radio partners to plan and broadcast new programs for farmers
- Give farmers a strong voice on the airwaves.
