Description

Join us to celebrate the launch of the UBC School of Public Policy and Global Affairs while exploring issues of local, national and global concern. The newly established UBC Policy School seeks to be an essential centre for innovation in global affairs and public policy. The goal of the UBC Policy School is to contribute to solving problems of local importance and global consequence.

The two founding units, the Institute of Asian Research and the Liu Institute for Global Issues, will continue as research institutes within the Policy School and be joined by the Centre for the Study of Democratic Institutions (CSDI) and the Canadian International Resources and Development Institute (CIRDI). The Policy School will also be the new home of the professional Master of Public Policy and Global Affairs (MPPGA) program. Please learn more about the formation of the new school here.

In the afternoon portion* of our symposium, join us for networking over a catered lunch with UBC Policy School faculty and senior leadership, MPPGA students, staff, and employers as well as hear insights from faculty, students, alumni presenters on how the Policy School’s MPPGA program prepares “global change makers” and UBC’s unique strengths in contributing to solving problems of local importance and global consequence.
