Join the conversation with an exciting panel of Agile experts including Doc Norton, Sue Johnston, Shawn Button, Andrew Annett, and Melissa Roberts. We’ll be discussing all aspects of Agile, and transforming our world of work.This group of Agile experts have over 100 combined years of experience working with individuals, teams, and organizations.

Hosted by the Agile Community of Manulife, these international speakers will share their experiences in helping organizations and teams improve through collaborative, communicative, self-directed, evolutionary approaches.

Whether you’re an Agile Coach, Scrum Master, Product Owner, Developer, Tester, Business Analyst, Designer, Marketer, Auditor, Lawyer, Project Manager, or any other role looking to work in a more agile way, there’ll be content and value for you.

Panelist Bios

Doc Norton is passionate about working with teams to improve delivery and building great organizations. Once a dedicated code slinger, Doc has turned his energy toward helping teams, departments, and companies work better together in the pursuit of better software. Working with a wide range of companies such as Groupon, Nationwide Insurance, and Belly, Doc has applied tenants of agile, lean, systems thinking, and servant leadership to develop highly effective cultures and drastically improve their ability to deliver valuable software and products.

Sue Johnston is a coach, trainer and facilitator. Her focus has been on individuals and interactions since before Agile was a "thing." After a career as a journalist, she worked to help employees make sense of organizational, technological and procedural change, as a senior manager in the Canadian financial services industry. These days, she helps tech people build their skills as collaborative communicators. Accredited by the International Consortium for Agile (ICAgile), her lively in-person workshops and distance programs are dedicated to making people awesome.

Shawn Button is an agile/lean coach, developer, and architect, with the proven ability to help individuals, teams, and enterprises adopt better ways of working. He is an expert in agile development practices, both technical. Shawn believes that any team can do great things—with the right leadership, mentorship, and support. His passion is helping teams find their full potential, while helping to transform the system they are working in. Shawn is part of LeanIntuit, a group of passionate coaches who help people and companies work in better ways.

Andrew Annett is a coach and facilitator who is passionate about helping teams improve product delivery and flow. He is focused on promoting shared understanding through better communication practices. He joined the agile community having survived a career of big-plan-up-front development and transformation programs in large financial institutions. Along the way he was distracted by involvement in startups and some unusual infrastructure projects and developing coaching skill. He is presently an Agile Catalyst at Manulife.

Melissa Roberts combines real-world practical experiences as an Agile Coach, Project Manager, and Program Analyst at BlackBerry, Nuance Communications. She is presently an Agile Catalyst at Manulife.

Her “Recipe for Awesomeness” includes:

  • 1 part agent of change
  • 2 parts fun and happiness
