AHS Rehabilitation Engineering Challenge
Event Information
Description
In this event approximately six individuals with a disability will be discussing their daily challenges in 10 minute presentation slots (6-7 minute presenting and 3-4 minute Q&A). Representatives will be selected from the following groups: Spinal Cord Injury Society of Alberta, SAGE Seniors Association, Brain Care Centre, ALS Society of Alberta, Autism Edmonton, and MS Society.
A chance will be given to the audience to connect one-on-one with the speakers. This gives an oppurtunity to ask further about the individual's dilemmas as well as brainstorm potential solutions.
For the people interested in undertaking a particular problem, GRRIT will provide them with the necessary connections and assist them in developing solutions. We intend to address these engineering challenges as capstone projects, co-op projects, research projects, and even student group projects to help disabled Albertans have a better quality of life.
Free refreshments (i.e. fruit, vegetables, cookies, dessert squares, fruit, pop, tea) will be provided.
