About this Event
This event is FREE to attend.
Artificial intelligence is changing how the most complex problems in the world are tackled. Whether it’s disease prevention, global refugee crisis mitigation, flood forecasting, marine protection, detecting diseased crops or fighting deforestation, AI has several applications in the developing world.
However, truly addressing global challenges will not only require the use of state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms and excellent data quality, but strong partnerships between the private sector, public sector, and government institutions.
The AI & Big Data: Future of Global Development Panel will bring together global thought leaders from business, tech, political science, and the non-profit sector to discuss the opportunities for AI in global development and the role of different sectors in implementing sustainable solutions.
Due to the fantastic reception we received last year, we are expanding this year's panel to a 2-day event! The University of Toronto will host the first panel on March 9th 2020, and the University of Waterloo will host the second panel on March 10th.
