Event description

Description

This event has two sessions, one at 7AM which is almost sold out and a second at 9:30AM which still has space.

Both will give an overview of air to water heat pumps that can be used as one option for single family homes 325m2+ to comply with the greenhouse gas limit in the building bylaw. Many 325m2+ project teams desire in floor radiant heat delivered via slab and cooling delivered via the air. An air to water heat pump can deliver this, but knowledge of this technology locally is modest in residential single family circles.

To address this we have organized an event for mechanical contractors, mechanical designers, and energy advisors involved in large single family homes in the City of Vancouver on air to water heat pumps. We are inviting each of the 6 companies that supply air to water heat pumps for large single family homes (3500-34,000sqft+ range) to attend the day and have a small table set up with information and provide business cards to interested attendees.

The event will be held at BCIT’s high performance lab in Burnaby https://commons.bcit.ca/energy/research/high-performance-building-lab/ and will be a breakfast event. The audience is mechanical contractors, mechanical designers, and energy advisors working on large single family homes in Vancouver. The 7AM session will have a free hot breakfast provided. The 9:30AM session will have coffee and snacks.

Both events will start with Chris Higgins, City of Vancouver staff giving a short overview of the code requirement along with the market driver that is growing interest in air to water solutions.

Chris will be followed by Rob Pope ( https://www.ecolighten.com/about-us/rob-pope-senior-consultant )who will give a technical overview of what air to water heat pumps are and things to consider in the design and installation of air to water systems.

The last presenter will be Arthur Lo (http://www.homebuildercanada.com/2506_profile.htm ), a homebuilder talking about a larger home using an air to water heat pump that he is building and his many years of history with heat pumps for space heating.

The event will have manufacturers on site so designers, contractors, and energy advisors can meet suppliers. Attendees will also get an air to water heat pump report prepared by a local contractor.

I hope you can join us, space is limited if you are interested please sign up.

We have a limited number of seats. If the space fills up we will be limiting attendance to 2 people per company.
