Japan has a deep wind band culture, with many students, ensembles and composers, all often unknown in North America.
Gareth Jones conducts the ALBERTA WINDS in a specially designed concert showcasing this wonderful musical legacy.
Yasuhide Ito's masterwork "GLORIOSA" forms the centerpiece of the program.

About the organizer
The Alberta Winds has been bringing wind ensemble music to Calgary music lovers since 2003. With a group including some of the area's best wind players, Alberta Winds gives performances of some of the most compelling music written for winds. The band also has showcased a variety of soloists for our audience. We share our love of music for winds with everyone, with a special interest in inspiring young people and student musicians.
