NARIMS invites members to attend a presentation on “Alberta’s Economic Outlook”.

Followed by the Annual General Meeting.

11am - Catherine Rothrock will present Alberta's Economic Outlook

12pm - Lunch

1pm - AGM

Who is a voting member?


Members shall be corporations or other legal entities that are admitted as Members by a majority vote of the Board of Directors. Membership shall not be open to those who are engaged in underwriting, selling, regulating or rating insurance, or in the investigation or settlement of losses, or in the business of independent risk management or insurance service for a fee, except that membership shall be open to a risk management division of such a company, provided, however, there is employed in said division, an individual qualified to be a Deputy Member.


How many votes does a Member organization get?

One vote per paid organization NARIMS membership.

Board Nominations:


Nominations are now open and will remain open up until the commencement of the AGM, Wednesday, June 14th at 11 a.m., for all elected and appointed positions, with the exception of RCC Delegate (term coincides with the expiration of her term on the RCC Board). All nominees for elected positions must be RIMS members in good standing. Please send your nominations to Kelly Cornelius, Past President at kelly.cornelius@gov.ab.ca.

More about the guest speaker:

Catherine Rothrock is the Chief Economist for the Government of Alberta. Her team analyzes economic trends and develops forecasts to support budget and fiscal planning for the Government of Alberta.

Catherine started her career in the energy sector in Calgary, working as an analyst for Enron, UBS Warburg, and Purvin & Gertz, an oil and gas consulting firm. After working for a few years with an NGO in Mozambique, Catherine joined Alberta Energy as a senior analyst, where she studied oil markets and developed the oil price forecast. She then joined Alberta Treasury Board and Finance as Manager in the Economics, Demography, and Public Finance branch. Catherine holds a Master's degree in economics from the University of Guelph and a Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction from the University of Alberta.
