Solar is great as a distributed resource: along with energy efficiency, it's the best energy technology for working at the scale of people, where they live.

Municipalities are similarly the closest governments to its residents. Cities, towns, MDs and counties across Alberta are proving that acting locally is essential to climate leadership.

Join us to hear from Alberta's Greenest communities: why going green is so important, what these places have accomplished, how they did it, and what's next.

Presentations by:

  • Calvin Lechelt, Program Lead, Energy Efficiency, Municipal Climate Change Action Centre
  • Samantha Hormazabal, Utilities Trainee, Town of Drayton Valley Water Plant
  • Kerra Chomlak, Environmental Sustainability Coordinator, City of Leduc’s Sustainability Initiatives
  • Tom Kumka, Fleet Manager, Public Works and Transit, City of St. Albert’s EV Bus Fleet
  • Mike Melross, General Supervisor, Energy Transition & Utility Supply, City of Edmonton - Achieving Emissions Reductions Locally to Align with the Goal of Limiting Global Average Temperature Increase to 1.5 Degrees Celsius

Seats are available on a "First Come First Served Basis"
