Event description

Description

It's often said that “the brain is the most powerful sexual organ” and nothing makes this clearer than a hot fantasy. This 2-hour workshop is all about learning how to maximise the power of fantasy in your erotic life. Using guided writing exercises, small group discussion, body-based techniques and information from research, participants will learn some new ways for understanding fantasy, tools for fuelling their erotic imaginations and methods of zeroing in on core erotic themes.

The workshop is for anyone who wishes to enhance their fantasy life, forge a positive relationship with fantasy or simply understand more about the role that it plays in sexuality. All genders welcome.

In order to provide a consensual, safe and comfortable environment for all participants, discussion will not focus on explicit details about personal fantasies. Participants will have the opportunity to do solo reflection exercises that will help them personalise the information and make it as relevant as possible, but group discussion will focus on more general themes. We support people’s desires to develop and enact their fantasies where appropriate and are happy to connect you to kink/erotic coaches if you want collaboration/support to go deeper into that process.

Facilitator bios
Bethany Daniels is an educator and performer based in Toronto. She started her journey onstage as a stand-up comedian, and quickly realized that humour and comedy provided a fantastic vehicle to deliver important messages. From her first foray into comedy, she has since performed in venues across Toronto and Canada, produces a monthly queer, POC and woman centric comedy event, writes and directs a webseries and podcast, works with Meg to create and facilitate a series of educational workshops, and provides information and support to her community when needed. Bethany's specialty is easing the way for difficult conversations, and working with people to find ways to make talking about body image, mental health, sexual health, consent, sex work, sex play and intimacy easier and with as much light and levity as she can muster.

Meg Saxby is an educator and healer based in Toronto. Her background is in feminist sex education and trauma therapies that use the body and the felt sense as the gateway to healing. For over ten years, she has worked in gender-based and sexual violence prevention. Meg believes that pleasure--and access to pleasure--is a political issue and that erotic sovereignty is the original renewable resource.
