Event description

Description

Join local Herbalist, Cheyenne Caza, for a walk in the woods as she shows you the edible, medicinal, and practical uses of Alberta trees. We'll dive into things like proper identification, sustainable harvesting, terrain safety, seasonal related challenges, necessities of life, treatments for common survival oriented injuries & illnesses. We will explore the nutritional and medicinal benefits with dietary intake. You will learn practical applications, like how to garner building materials, fire starter, food, glue and so much more from our majestic trees. Truly an experience not to be missed by anyone frequenting the woods of Alberta.

This event is BY-DONATION! That's right, you donate what you can (suggested donation of $10 to $30 per person) and you do need to register to get your ticket and location details. You can register here --->

Included with your donation are some delicious HERBAL SNACKS and a refreshing HERBAL BEVERAGE, made with love by Cheyenne and a PRIZE DRAW :D

----------------------------------------------------
Who: Everyone 12 years and older is welcome to attend the adventure! Please keep in mind that you will need to navigate the rough, uneven terrain, and be on your feet for prolonged periods of time. Group size is limited.

What: We will begin shortly after 10:00 am, with a walk among the trees learning all about them along the way. At 12:00 pm we will stop at an overlook for discussion and to enjoy our delicious snacks before we begin the journey home at 1:00 pm.

Where: Kananaskis Public Land Use Zone (PLUZ) (full location details will be sent to all ticket holders)

When: July 23rd, 2017 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.

Cautions: Rough terrain, prolonged periods of standing, possible encounters with wildlife, possible inclement weather

Odds & Ends: The uneven terrain may be rough for people as there is often lots of roots, mud, fallen logs and so on. As such, please dress right for Alberta weather; in layers, and wear solid footwear. There are public washrooms on site, though we are uncertain of their operating hours. Remember to bring some water! We will be there rain, snow or shine unless intense weather prompts us to cancel the event.
