Join Let's Hike TO for a fun urban walk through Allan Gardens, where we will see & explore, using the Seek App, many different plants & Yorkville area where we will see some lights & ice sculptures.
The meeting point will be outside College station via Carlton South Side Exit at 3:30PM.
We will head to Allan Gardens first. If possible, it is recommended to download the Seek App beforehand, which is available for both iOS and Android. The Seek app was created by the iNaturalist team (California Academy Sciences & National Geographic Society). It is an app that allows you to scan/take pictures of animals & plants to identify species while giving more information on it with some fun facts. It does require data to use though.
Afterwards we will head down Sherbourne Street towards Yorkville area through some greenery paths. We will explore the Yorkville area, including going to the Village of Yorkville Park to see some ice sculptures & lights.
We will end the hike at Bloor-Yonge station around 6:30pm.
Winter hiking is always unpredictable and it's very likely that the ground on the trails will be icy and extremely slippery. Please bring ice cleats with you to attend this hike - they are a must for hiking in the winter. Most of the trail will be flat, but there are some minimally elevated terrain areas as well as stairs that we will need to descend.
Hoping you can join us for this awesome Toronto adventure!
