Event description
Join us at FARM DAY in Rideau Lakes for a sourdough workshop featuring Anjali Wildgen.

About this Event

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

This workshop will provide everything you need to know to start baking your own delicious heritage sourdough bread at home. We'll cover the basics of maintaining your starter, mixing, proofing, shaping and baking a sourdough loaf. You'll even take home your very own starter and fresh-milled heritage loaf to bake.

Attendees are asked to bring their own mixing bowl.

There are two sessions. The first is scheduled at noon and the second at 3pm.

ABOUT FARM DAY

Join us at Ironwood Organics, a certified organic farm near Delta, Ontario to celebrate the end of harvest.

There'll be a Dominion City beer garden, walking farm tours, an Almanac sourdough workshop, tractor rides, local food vendors, music and more.

Farm Day is FREE to attend.

For those traveling from Ottawa we've arranged for a shuttle bus from Dominion City to Ironwood Organics. Return fare is $15/per person. Bus departs the brewery at 10:30am and leaves the farm at 3pm. The journey is 90 minutes of scenic Eastern Ontario countryside.

You're welcome to make your own travel arrangements and tour the area. The Opinicon is 20 minutes drive and the Old Stone Mill National Historic Site in Delta is less than 10 minutes drive and it's a lovely day trip this undiscovered part of Eastern Ontario.

There'll be food for sale by The Opinicon and a local farmer's market featuring Almanac, Gibbs Honey, Roots Down Farm and more.
