Description

This is an Advance Leadership Program (ALP) Module.

Module Brief:
Laura Tribe. Big Telecom, Government Spying, and the Internet
Big Telecom is actively moving to control the Internet and to raise prices and censor content. Governments are using the Internet to spy on you. Learn about net neutrality and how “open media” advocates are working to prevent legislation that would give control of the internet to corporation and government.

Prior to joining OpenMedia, Laura worked for the Canadian Journalists for Free Expression (CJFE). Laura is gravely concerned about the current political direction regarding “net neutrality”. She holds a BA in Media, Information and Technoculture from Western University, and an MA in Communications from Carleton University.
