Alpha

Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that explore the basics of the Christian faith. Typically run over 11 weeks, it allows anyone to explore life, faith and God in a friendly, open and informal environment. In each session, there’s food, a short talk, and discussion in small groups. The first session is January 11, 2017.

Who is Alpha for?

Alpha is for everyone – welcoming people from all backgrounds, religions and viewpoints.

How much does it cost to attend Alpha?

There is no charge to attend Alpha. We only ask that you get a "ticket" to help us plan meals.

I'm not even sure I believe in God, is Alpha for me?

Alpha is everyone no matter where you are at in life or what questions you might have. The sessions are a place where people can be themselves in a casual, non-judgemental setting.

Do I need to attend all the sessions?

We highly recommend attending all the Alpha sessions to get the most out of the series, however, busy schedules are a part of life. If you miss a session, we will try our best to arrange a time for you to watch the video you missed and discuss it.

Do I have to discuss with my group?

There is no pressure to discuss or to say anything at all until you're comfortable.

How often are the sessions?

There are 11 weekly sessions and one weekend away that takes place roughly halfway through the sessions. The Alpha Weekend is a chance for groups to go away together to watch and discuss 3 or 4 Alpha talks. This is the time when relationships are deepened and lives are impacted by specific opportunities for prayer.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

For the evenings at St. Paul's you can leave your car in our parking lot across the street from the church. To the left of the main church doors you'll see a green space with a walkway that leads to the parish centre doors and that's where you'll find us!

What can I bring into the event?

You don't need to bring anything but if you would like to take notes, feel free to take a pen or pencil. Guests will be provided with booklets to use for notes.
