Event description

Description

Join us for an overnight cross country ski trip into the beautiful Mantario Cabin. The ski to the cabin is about 20 km and we have booked the cabin for 3 nights. This gives you the choice of leaving Winnipeg either Friday or Saturday morning, returning either Sunday or Monday afternoon.

The Mantario Cabin can accommodate 16 people (4 rooms of 4), and is equipped with both wood and propane stoves for cooking. Solar powered lights, composting toilets, and a wood-fired sauna will add to your enjoyment of this wilderness location.

This trip is for experienced cross country skiers. Participants will need to be able to ski 20km+ wearing a 25-30 lb backpack over uneven and ungroomed terrain in full-on backcountry winter conditions including possible cold temperatues, stron winds, slushy snow, and poor visibility. Up to the task? We want you!

Check the website: www.naturemanitoba.ca to view the cabin and a blurb about our winter section trip last march.
