BIOGRAPHIES:

Elizabeth Murray - Elizabeth is a lifelong resident of Winnipeg, Manitoba where she lives with her husband and son. A graduate of the University of Manitoba, she practiced law from 1985 to 1997. After a second bout of cancer she retired to more time with her family.

When Elizabeth's mother first exhibited signs of dementia, Elizabeth didn't want to believe that the illness was lurking and dismissed the symptoms as signs of normal aging. She wasn't prepared for the changes in her mother's personality as dementia took hold and was devastated when she became the target of her mother's anger and paranoia.

Elizabeth began writing and speaking about her mother's battle with dementia and the impact the illness had on their relationship. She believes that sharing her experience will help others feel less alone as they embark on their own journey with the disease.

Lisa Russell, Reg. N., GNC(c) - Born and raised in Timmins, ON, Lisa has been nursing for the past 29 years. In 2007 she joined the Timmins Family Health Team and in 2008 she received her Canadian Nurses Association Gerontology Nursing Certification.

Currently, Lisa works as the Geriatric Nurse following her passion for enhancing geriatic care in the Timmins area.

Suzanne Hachez, RPN - Sue currently works as the First Link and Public Education Coordinator for the Alzheimer Society of Timmins-Porcupine. Within her role Sue provides 1:1 support with families and caregivers in addition to running support groups, learning series and creating, managing and running some of our many programs.

Karina Lacroix - Karina was born in Timmins, ON and graduated with a BS in Occupational Therapy from the Ottowa University. Karina has been working as an Occupational Therapist in geriatrics since March 2017 at the North East Specialized Geriatric Centre through Health Science North in Timmins.
