Description
Please join alumni from HBS, Harvard Club of Toronto and Northwestern for a guided tour of the McMichael Canadian Art Collection as the museum celebrates its 50th anniversary.
The McMichael opened its doors in July 1966 with 194 works of Canadian art donated by Signe and Robert McMichael to the Province of Ontario, and has blossomed to over 6,000 works today from all eras. The spirit of this gallery is rooted in its unique celebration of place: a place to retreat from the city, a place to feel Canadian, a place to enjoy the connection between art and nature, a place to celebrate Canadian art and, essentially, a place of joy.
The special 50/50/50 Anniversary Exhibition guides us through different eras featuring:
A.Y. Jackson & Tom Thomson: Wounds of War (1916);
Jack Bush: IN Studio (reached apex 50 years ago as the museum opened), and
Colleen Heslin: Needles and Pins (painting with stitched together fabrics here and now).

The event will be from 11:30am-1pm for the guided tour and 11:30am-2:30pm for the guided tour and lunch.
Guests and families are welcome to attend.
Feel free to linger on in the gallery and enjoy the remaining exhibits, including Field Trip by Sarah Anne Johnson, inspired by the artist’s fascination with outdoor music festivals. See what The Globe and Mail writes HERE.
Hosted by the HBS Club of Toronto, Harvard Club of Toronto and the NU-Kellogg Alumni Club of Toronto
