Dr. Priya Natarajan is a professor in the Departments of Astronomy and Physics at Yale University. She is a theoretical astrophysicist interested in cosmology, gravitational lensing and black hole physics. She is also deeply interested in Institutional Change with regard to Gender Parity in the Academy.
Dr. Natarajan will bring her workshop to UBC on March 14th from 10 am to 1 pm. She will present two case studies on the topic of gender equity in academia, and will discuss how to effect change. This workshop is targeted to academic researchers at all stages of their career.
The workshop will run for roughly the first hour. After that, we'll take a break for lunch and informal discussion, followed by a discussion about the workshop. Registration is free but limited, so please sign up!
Dr. Natarajan will also be speaking at the Physics Departmental Colloquium later that day in Hennings 201.
