This evening’s storytelling performance will include traditional folktales that are appropriate for the season of Halloween. This can include ghost stories, devil stories, or other stories that are darker in nature, but still family friendly.

The musicians will perform during some of the stories and also between stories as well.

Weather-permitting, the first portion of the show would take place outdoors in the cemetery next to the church.

After the first portion of stories, the audience will be directed to the Church Hall and served some hot drinks while the musicians are performing.

As second portion of stories will conclude the show at around 9:30pm.

About the storyteller:

John David Hickey has been performing as a storyteller since 1996, telling tales in concerts, festivals, and events across Canada.

Originally from Quebec city, he has made a name for himself as one of Montreal’s best known storytellers in both the Anglophone and Francophone communities.

Dave is an engaging teller who makes good use of his acting experience to add a theatrical spin to his stories. He engages the audience, making personal connections with each listener. He is friendly, funny, and tells his story with his whole body! His strong stage presence keeps his listeners on the edge of their seats as he weaves his tales of mystery, adventure, and laughter.

About the musicians:

Patrick Hutchinson was born and raised in various rural parts of Scotland and England. Patrick Hutchinson came to Montreal in his late teens, and has been involved in various musical and other cultural activities here for the last four decades. In the second half of the 90s, Patrick plunged back into the Celtic music he'd grown up with, playing many events around Montreal's Irish community, in various pubs around Montréal, and hundreds of gigs all over eastern Canada.
