Event description
The open-air live concert you’ve been waiting for

About this Event

Grab your bubble, grab your lawn chairs, and grab your camping gear for the open air live concert you've been waiting for!

Pocologan Productions has partnered with Forward Music Group to host An Evening at the Drive-In - a unique, open-air live concert at the Sussex Drive-In featuring performances by The Olympic Symphonium, Quinn Bonnell, and Jerry-Faye. Aiming to deliver a classic folk festival experience, this special show is unlike any other hosted at the drive-in this summer.

Relaxed COVID-19 measures mean you can tailgate like the good old days, and even watch from lawn chairs and picnic blankets in front of your vehicle. The side stage tent camping area will be abuzz with folk festival vibes and happy concert-goers.

The entertainment will be easy to see on the four-storey projection screen, and the audio will be amplified from a large PA system rather than through the drive-in’s FM transmitter.

FAQ

Who’s performing?

New Brunswick chamber-folk group The Olympic Symphonium, blues-folk singer-songwriter Quinn Bonnell, and the dreamy rock talents of Jerry-Faye (solo performance).

What time does the show start?

The show starts at 9PM, the doors open at 8PM. Side stage field campers can access the venue as early as 2PM.

How will it work?

Imagine your favorite open-air live concert experiences, but add a four-storey projection screen and the comfort of your own vehicle, lawn chair, or picnic blanket.

How will I enjoy the show from my car?

A full video crew will capture the live performances for projection onto the big screen. Unlike previous drive-in concerts, the music will be amplified from the stage like a traditional open-air live concert.

What COVID-19 safety measures will be in place?

Your vehicle will be guided to a spot that is safely distanced from your neighbours, and you will be asked to only sit inside or in front of your vehicle (not to the sides, please). A dedicated team will be on-site to encourage safe social distancing in the audience, at the bathrooms, and at the canteen. The bathrooms will be regularly sanitized, and the canteen staff will be practicing enhanced food safety measures.

Can I leave my car?

Yes! The rules have relaxed a little since the first drive-in show of the summer. You are allowed to leave your car and sit in lawn-chairs in front of your vehicle (but not to the sides, please). We ask that you try to reduce wandering about as much as possible, and to respect the latest social distancing guidelines as set by the Government of New Brunswick.

Can I stay overnight?

Absolutely! There are two ways to stay overnight: at the Sussex KOA Campground and RV Park (reserve here) or tent camping in the field beside the stage (an optional add-on when you buy your ticket). Side stage field campers can access the venue as early as 2PM. You will be asked to set up your camping gear right away, and then you can park your vehicle in the audience area.

Will there be concessions for sale?

Yes, there will be a canteen selling snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.

Will washrooms be available?

Of course! Enhanced cleaning procedures will be in place.

Are there age restrictions?

Nope! This is an all-ages show. We suggest families with children camp at the Sussex KOA Campground.
