Event description

Description

Where "luck" will land you.

In Ron Norman's debut book, Malcolm Bidwell has just been hired by mistake by newly elected Premier Steven Davis as his “go-to guy” for every political mess that needs cleaning up. And there are plenty. He must negotiate his way through the treacherous and wickedly funny corridors of power and is forced to make difficult choices: between what’s right and what’s expedient, and between his old friends and his new career. Set in the quirky, combative, and darkly comic world of British Columbia politics—where your friends can be more dangerous than your enemies—Slouching Towards Innocence is a story of politics, love and life.

Keith Ogilvie's book features Keith “Skeets” Ogilvie who has been rejected by the Royal Canadian Air Force and joins the British Royal Air Force instead. A week later he was on a boat to England and a future he could not have imagined. As a Spitfire pilot in the Battle of Britain, Skeets established his credentials with six confirmed victories and several enemy aircraft damaged. The Spitfire Luck of Skeets Ogilvie is the story of an ordinary man who beat incredible odds on the frontlines, and the remarkable woman with whom he was reunited at the end of the War.

Authors will read from and discuss their books. For more information: http://www.sidneyliteraryfestival.ca/
