Description

Speaker: Elizabeth Parkinson

Are you new to managing Workers’ Compensation issues?
Is your company new to the Province of Ontario?
Would you benefit from an overview of the system and an employer’s obligations?
________________________________________

This presentation will help you understand how compulsory workplace insurance works in Ontario, who it applies to, how it is funded and what you as an employer need to know and do. In addition to providing the background to workers’ compensation in the province, we will be focusing on what to do when a worker gets injured on the job.

As an employer, you will learn:
• Your obligations when a worker is injured
• When to complete a Form 7 and how much time you have to submit it
• What benefits your worker may receive
• How to quickly and effectively return your worker to work
• What obligations you may have to re-employ your injured worker
• Whether cost relief is an option for your claim/s
• Your rights to appeal decisions as an employer

Join Elizabeth Parkinson, Employer Specialist from the Office of the Employer Adviser, as she outlines the obligations for both workers and employers under the workplace insurance system in Ontario and explains what you need to do to avoid penalties.
