Description

Join us for this unique 3 hour workshop that examines one of yoga's core movements, the sun salution. We break it down and build it back up. Upon completion of the workshop, students will not only understand which muscles need to engage during the movement, they will prevent injury and benefit more from their individual practice.

Instructor - Joy Dorsey

Joy Dorsey, founder, director, and principle teacher of Be Moved Yoga and Wellness Studio In Brantford, Ontario began her yoga practice in 2004 at the Downward Dog Yoga Centre.

Under the guidance of her mentors, Diane Bruni and Ron Reid, Joy received her 200HR Teaching Certificate in 2006 and began teaching in 2010. Joy has been a faculty member of the prestigious Downward Dog Yoga Teacher Trainer program from 2005-2015 as the Program Advisor.

Joy’s exceptional ability to communicate the theory, practice, accessibility and execution of yoga has garnered attention outside the traditional avenues of the yoga community. She is an instructor at Sheridan College for the Faculty of Continuing and Professional Studies in the 200 HR Hatha Yoga Certification.

Building upon her roots in Asthanga Vinyasa yoga, she continues to expand her repertoire by including concepts explored from functional mobility, strength building and accessibility practices.

As Joy’s students will attest to, her classes strike the necessary balance between flow, postural alignment, and breath creating space and grounding throughout the body.
