About this event
In 2021 Neruda Arts set a goal to celebrate Canadian women in the arts, with a focus on BIPOC women. The aim was to provide each of the participants with a professional quality video of their work to further their artistic careers.
This evening is a culmination of eight months of conversations, planning, rehearsing, more planning and filming which has produced five videos celebrating six women and their art:
- Music
- Spoken Word
- Puppetry
- Dramatic Performances and
- Playwriting.
Sponsored by Factor Canada, 'And Still She Persists' includes the work of:
- Mary Abdel-Malek Neil Stand Your Ground
- Charlena Russel Heritage Piece
- Arlene Thomas Pin & Jab and the Monster
- Frances Roberts Reilly & Kae Mills Hecate's Suppers
- Mary Littlejohn & Jenn Weatherall Just Right
Please join us in applauding these talented women - from emerging to professional artists - on the YouTube premier screening of all five videos, filmed and edited by Neruda Arts Studio.
