So often as artists, we have an image, a spark of memory that is saturated with emotion. Many times there is an ambiguity to the image, a vagueness yet a crystal moment. These works for those memories trigger an aura. Each image has to have a moment of action and can be experienced in a contemporary context; this way the work achieves a blending of memories with Caribbean Folk, Modern, and Classical Ballet of a present day experience.

Ronald Taylor Dance’s artistry has settled into a blend of cultural influences in these Contemporary times which is described as “Caribbean Contemporary”. Our artistic director and choreographer’s ability to feel so strongly has been diagnosed as a mental illness by medical professionals; however, he has come to believe that it is truly a gift to be able to bring his perspective to a wider audience

As we enter a season of growth and new beginnings, we want to take a moment to celebrate the art of survival through trying times. In this digital space, we embrace the challenges and joys of our daily lives authentically and without judgment.
