Charlie Jacobson Band - Charlie Jacobson is a passionate, Alberta based, 23-year-old blues artist. Over the last few years, Charlie has played hundreds of shows across the Canadian prairies and back and forth over the Rockies. We first saw Charlie in Red Deer a couple of years ago and again at the 2017 Edmonton Blues festival.

Angel Forrest - On January 23, 2017, at the 20th annual Maple Blues Awards, Angel Forrest achieved something quite remarkable, unprecedented even, when she was named the Female Vocalist of the Year for the fourth consecutive time. Trophies for Recording/Producer of the Year for her CD, Angel's 11 (2016) and Songwriter of the Year (with husband, guitarist and bandleader, Denis Coulombe) completed the Montreal native's hat trick. Angel has been nominated for two 2017 Maple Blues Awards, we will know in January if she is adding more to her collection.

With a career now into its third decade, Forrest is well known in La Belle Province for her trademark fiery red hair and grainy, smoky voice. Bonnie Raitt and Melissa Etheridge come to mind. She's naturally inclined to prowl the stage barefoot too. "It keeps me more grounded with the vibe of the whole scene," explains Forrest. "And, I like to dance a lot."

Boogie Patrol - No strangers to SBS members, they have steadily built their reputation as one of Western Canada's premier Blues, Funk, Soul & Blues/Rock bands. Since their formation in Edmonton in 2007 they have opened for blues legends such as Buddy Guy, and The Fabulous Thunderbirds and have been a featured act on some of the West's finest roots music festivals. The band has garnered acclaim and an enthusiastic following on the strength of their high-energy live shows and their dedication to excellent musicianship and charming stage presence. Boogie Patrol ripped up the stage at the 2017 Edmonton Blues festival and arguably the best we have seen them perform. They have been nominated for the 2017 Maple Blues Award - Electric Act of the Year.
